I reallllly like limedoodle's video tutorial below, BUT I do not have watercolor paints and don't want to invest in them. I tried the below technique once using Tombow water-based markers and a water brush, but the results weren't worth saving. I've tried it again using extremely watered down acrylic paints. Here is the tutorial and limedoodle's lovely card: https://limedoodledesign.com/2021/09...ember-release/
I started by cutting a watercolor panel to size. I took 3 colors of acrylic paint and heavily watered them down. I first painted the panel entirely with the green wash and let it partly dry. Then I added the brown-ish wash, letting the runny paint flow along the panel and mix with the green. Finally I added the gray-ish wash and let the watery paint run along the panel. I dried the panel with a heat tool.
I die cut the etched branch out of glossy white cardstock and adhered it to the dried watercolor panel, which I then adhered to a white card front. I added sequins and pearls and a label-maker word. I think it turned out quite interesting, even without being able to use watercolors to get the same effects as in limedoodle's tutorial. TFL!
