This card was made for a sketch challenge that also had the optional challenge to use monochrome colors.
I chose peach to be my monochrome family, but the hard part was finding stamps in my stash that fit into the ovals for this 4-1/4"x 5-1/2" card. I stumbled on a cute set of French stamps from a company company called Katzelkraft that now is also sold by Simon Says Stamp and Topflight Stamps in the US.
I had watched a great YouTube video by Jennifer McQuire (https://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2...-any-dies.html) who showed how you use your existing stamps and dies to be even more creative with the "Eclipse" technique. It requires a stamp positioner like a Misti or Stampin' Up!(SU) Stamparatus to do this technique. It requires that you build your card front from the base up, and as you lay down each layer (I have 3 on this card) you stamp your image each time. Jennifer's blog and video tutorial do an excellent job of demonstrating this technique!
I used the SU retired "Stitched Shapes" dies for the center circle and cat ovals. The result is that even when the cat images extend beyond these small ovals their image continues on all three layers. It's a great technique when you face the situation I did of a card element being too small to hold the stamped images in your design.
The final step was to add the three enamel dots at the bottom to "ground" the overall image.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" because it does require that you plan your design carefully in advance of assembling it. This card is perfect to send to for my cat-loving friends for just about any occasion! By the way "clowder" is the official name of a group of cats,,, just like "flock" is the name used to describe a group of sheep.
