This is my sample for the Color Challenge; we are using a repeat of last weeks wonderful colors to give the team a week off. I was also inspired by this week's Featured Stamper, Rosemary.
I saw this terrific card in Rosemary's gallery. It reminded me of a fun stamp with candles.
I thought my case would work great with the Color Challenge combo. The image and sentiment were heat embossed in black on Shimmery White with a vanilla card base.
I colored the candles with Pool Party and Pretty Peacock markers. Also, I colored the star and dotted around the candles. Then I had a dilemma for coloring the flames and sticking with the challenge colors. I like a good challenge. I used Ivory blends marker and just a dot of (neutral) Merry Merlot. Immediately I used Wink of Stella which spread the ink a little and made it so sparkly. I used a scrap of sparkly Pool Party glitter ribbon for dessert.
For my case-I kept the candles and birthday theme, but changed the stamps and colors. I matted my main panel as Rosemary did. Then I used DSP and an embossed panel in a similar layout. The top panel is popped up on Dimensionals. My card base is from a pack of vanilla textured note cards with envelopes. I covered the back flap of the envelope with the same DSP for a coordinated look.
Thank you, Rosemary for sharing your beautiful cards with us and for inspiring my notecard today! Thank you, Barbara for these wonderful colors!
Happy New Year. See you in 2022 for more inspiring challenges! TFL

Diane, this is so fun. I love the candles bursting out of the image and they look fab in this week's colors. Great bg papers too. Wonderful design. That strip of sparkly paper is the perfect finishing touch. Fabulous card.

What a fun birthday card, Diane! I love the offset rectangles (I did that last week!) and the very clever way you used the Merry Merlot and Wink of Stella to give your candle flames color and sparkle! Great case of another card with this week's colors. I love it!
