Featured Stamper challenge honoring Jo Ann F. I so enjoyed her amazing gallery and found quite a bit of inspiration. I selected this card for the challenge:
I have so many DSP scraps. I like how Jo Ann used hers. The combined patterns look great with the large die-cut sentiment on top. I changed to a birthday theme and used different papers & colors. Due to the size of my strips, I could not go diagonal which looks so great on Jo Ann's card. I like the vertical, too. I allowed a little space in between the strips and matted on black. I die-cut my sentiment in Melon Mambo and stacked on a white one slightly moved to show some of the white underneath. I tilted it on the panel. There was a pre-cut star in my DSP folder so I added it as an embellishment. I placed a black rhinestone as the dot over the letter I in birthday. I finished by running a Gelly glitter pen in the white line between strips and on the white part of the die-cut sentiment. So sparkly!
Fun card to make. Thanks Jo Ann for sharing your wonderful cards with us and for inspiring mine today!

Diane, the harmony you achieved with your paper selections makes this fun and I will say exciting. The happiness behind the birthday wish bursts into view! I love how the white layer enhances your diecut, and the vertical stripes are perfect. Great case.

Diane, I really love your design .... what a clever idea to add the sparkle on the white spaces with your glitter pen! I'm always looking for ideas for using that big Happy Birthday die .... this is a wonderful layout for the diecut! Your star worked out perfectly for an embellishment!
