Teapotters Challenge to use a masking technique to send sunshine & well wishes to Lynn. I used to have frequent contact with Lynn when we were both active in the Alphabet Challenge. I so enjoyed her humor. I definitely wanted to make a card for her.
I had this two-step yellow rose already stamped. I thought it would be good since yellow roses are given to bring joy & cheer and symbolize friendship. Also, yellow is a sunshine color. I hand-cut a mask from a thin piece of printer paper and secured it over the rose with temporary adhesive. Using a soft brush, I sponged Pale Papaya ink around the mask. The panel was die-cut into a stitched rectangle and matted in the same green as the leaves. I used a rainbow DSP strip behind the panel. Stamped a thinking of you sentiment in Night of Navy. Embellishments were left off to make it easy to mail, but I did put Wink of Stella on the rose & leaves. Sending to Lynn with lots of well wishes. TFL

Gorgeous rose and yellow is the perfect color for this gift. Great mask you created and I love the soft papaya sponging -- such a warm combination. Also perfect for this gift. The striped paper adds just the right touch of colors -- like a rainbow. Beautiful card.

Beautiful! The double-stamped rose is perfect with the masked frame you created. Your soft brushwork is, awesome, and the DP paper as part of BG framing is excellent...

The sponged papaya around your rose adds a nice visual layer without adding extra bulk (something I TRY to keep in mind when I know a Card will be going international mail. (post office is getting SO picky) This is so soft & pretty and I love the center rainbow of stripes that draws the eye right to that rose.
