Today's Tea Party is for our own FMCrafter who has been struggling with health issues and feeling isolated. The Teapotters are sending her paper hugs. Pat is our hostess and she has challenged us to use some sort of masking technique on our cards. I enjoy masking to make cute scenes. I also masked the edges of my card. I started with stamping and masking the fox and bunny. Then I stamped the fire and the tent, masked the tent, and stamped the trees and mountains. While I had things masked, I sponged green grass and blue sky with Distress Oxides inks. Then I colored my whole scene with SN and Copic Markers. After I added the glow of the campfire to my happy campers, I realized that it was daylight out, so I sponged some darker blue to make is dusk and added some white gel pen stars. I made this a mini slimline card, because once I decided on these sweet MFT stamps, I went looking for an MFT Challenge to play along in. This is for the MFT Slimline Challenge - Mini Slimline cards I hope Lynn can feel the hugs all the way up in Canada.

You have really masked your heart out on this scene, my friend, but it was certainly worth the effort. Adorable critters and I particularly love the fire's glow reflecting off them. That's some super attention to detail.

Oh, sigh - I'm so glad we did get to camp once this year or this would make my cry instead of smiling. And the fox with the guitar! DH always brings his guitar when we go camping. This is just the sweetest.

Wow, your sponging looks more like watercoloring --- great job. Love the scene you created and the great colors you used here. It reminds me of so many happy times singing (badly) around a campfire and making S'mores. I imagine it will do the same for Lynn. Thanks for the fun card and the happy memories.

What a glorious job you did creating this scene with all the masking .... this is one happy scene and just what Lynn will love!
