I made this card for a friend of ours who is blind, hence the Braille greeting strip on the front & the different textures of the flames & candles. I cut the candles from a variety of glitter, patterned, & handmade embossed papers. I cut each strip separately, and trimmed the tops at an angle. I cut them at different lengths, & glued them to my Icy Mint background panel. I made the first "candle" the shortest, & the 8th the longest. I have seen other stamps for menorahs that had all 8 candles the same length. But I figure, if the first one is burned for each of the 8 days of Hanukkah, it will be the shortest. So I graduated the sizes.
I die cut the flames with a leafy branch die from gold glitter cardstock, then cut the leaves off the branch portion. Before I glued them to my background, I shaded the bottom of each with an orange Sharpie marker. To give everything a true "quilted" look, I pierced holes in the candles & flames, & stitched through with a white iridescent thread. Finally, I did the greeting, & adhered it to the front with foam tape.

This is so cool! I love how much thought you gave to making it in a way that your blind friend could experience it. Just for info, each night a new set of candles is lit and allowed to burn down (not like the advent wreath where the week 1 candle is shortest)….BUT a lot of menorahs are designed on a sort of slant so your layout still works great, and it’s a beautiful card!
