I have several crafting friends with birthdays in October. With so many, time was of the essence, so I decided to CASE one of my own cards. I found my gumdrop card from 2018 that made me smile then and yet again when I revisited it after three years!
I started early enough, but did not get the inside quite finished and still miss her birthday. My youngest granddaughter passed her nasty cold to me, and I was down and out for over 10 days! I even got a Covid test to be sure I wasn't even sicker than I thought; fortunately, that was negative!
I was super pleased with the results this second time around...it is such a cute, super happy card... so colorful and festive! Playing my Challenge Catch-up cardmaking, I was able to find 13 challenges that it fits.
1) AOCC21 - All Occasion Card Challenge/ October 2021 - 10/1/21. A birthday card needed for October, but unfortunately belated due to illness!
2) USEIT2021 - Use It Challenge/ October 2021 - 10/1/21. I an old stamp set Venice Lace Rectangle die, and ribbon that I haven't used since 2018.
3) DINSPO921 - Monthly Fan Club Challenge/ Popping In - 9/15/21. Popping up three layers with dimensionals plus the gumdrops reflect a Food Pop Art style using repetition, vibrant/ bold colors, uniform spacing, and texture with an easy to reproduce finished product. I'm applying this to the Inspiration Photo challenge. All the bright colors in the coffee cup were inspiring for the card layering colors and image colors.
4) WT840 - Ways to Use It Challenge/ I'll Have Scallops - 4/15/21. I've used a scalloped hexagon mat layer under the sentiment hexagon.
5) MIX420 - Mix-Ability Challenge/ Make it POP! - 2/12/21. Challenge: Make a card depicting the Pop Art Style. Food Pop Art uses repetition; vibrant and bright colors; uniform spacing, and texture with the finished product easy to reproduce. I think my gumdrops fit.
6) S2S20DEC - Stamp 2 Save (aka Stamp 2 Support One Another)/ Birthday Cards - 12/3/20. A much needed belated birthday card!
7) IC746 - Inspiration Challenge/ {Ellen Hutson} - 3/21/20. Browse this website and find inspiration. For the gumdrops, I chose: Goody, Goody Gumdrops!
9) ABC11U21 - Alphabet Challenge/ Round 11 - Letter U = Unity - 7/24/19. My gumdrops bring unity to my card per this definition: "the principle of design that unifies all other principles within a piece of work, allowing each individual element to coexist with one another to form an aesthetically pleasing design!" WOW! was that a mouthful or what!!
10) FS638 - Featured Stamper/ Nannygirl - 4/28/19. I found this layout inspiration: Flip Flops in a Row!. I flips flops in a row caught my eye, and the variety of colors. I kept both alignment in a row and colors; changed flip flops to gumdrops; and added more brightly colored layers to my card, plus a perky ribbon and "stamped" label sentiment, rather than sentiment die-cut applied directly onto the card front.
11) MMTPT546 - Teapot Challenge/ You Must be Joking - 1/8/19. Challenge: make a card that brings a laugh or smile. Since I'm late to the party, this smile-worthy card will go as a belated birthday card to a friend.
12) CAS514 - Clean & Simple Challenge/ Memories of Past - 12/31/18. Challenge: create a card from your crafting past. Just loved this festive, happy card when I first made it in 2018 and love it just as much today!
13) MSP7 - Misty Monday Challenges/ That Would Be a Cute Card! - 3/12/18. Saw this on Pinterest: [COLOR=#F88017]Gumdrop Area Rug[/COLORF]. Saw this Gumdrop rug...remembered an old stamp set and thought of lots of cute ideas!
13) SC722 - Sketch Challenge - 1/7/18. Sketch Adjust: Added more border base layers below card front. Add a ribbon strip between #3 & #4 horizontal strips. Sentiment centered and a hexagon label rather than stamped on card front.
