Chris is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and I am still making Christmas cards. This was an easy challenge for me, though, because her color palette works perfectly with my new kit from Hero Arts. The colors are Cinnamon Cider, Petal Pink and Night of Navy. The dessert option is "dots." I also used tiny bits of three neutrals, Mossy Meadow, Merry Merlot and Early Espresso.
This kit (which is already sold out--sorry!) contains dies that can make a snowman, a santa, an elf and a reindeer. This week's colors work perfectly for the reindeer, so here he is.
Oh, the title of my card? Yeah, this is attempt #2. I'm not showing you #1, but suffice it to say that I put the antler piece on top of the face, and my poor reindeer #1 looked like he was wearing a Halloween costume with reindeer antlers on his head. It would have been funny if it hadn't taken me so long to create that disaster! Oh, well, the second one went faster! Something that rarely happens to me--I could not come up with any way to salvage the first card, so into the recycling it went. :-(
I hope you'll join us in the gallery this week. I'm looking forward to seeing lots of dots!

Super cute! Sorry you had a learning curve with the first one, but this one turned out adorable. Love how you used the challenge colors and you have dessert with the polka-dot scarf. Fun card!
Barbara, I am in love with your precious reindeer. Every detail of your card is perfect. The beautiful designer papers your used for the scarf and background work perfectly to highlight the deer. My favorite element is the holly and berries on the scarf. Precious!!!!!

Just darling, Barbara. Delightful card and how useful to make all that from the kits. I'm pondering these colors mightily! I usually find a way to save something but sometimes you just gotta let it go. Thanks so much for the fave for last week...it means a lot!
