The challenge is to use a favorite holiday movie as inspiration for a card. While it's technically not a movie, since it's only 20 minutes long, give or take, one of my favorite Christmas shows is "A Claymation Christmas." It's basically claymation characters performing several Christmas carols, with 2 dinosaurs, Rex & Herb, as narrators. It's really amazing, & done so well. Two of the songs they feature are "We Three Kings" & "Joy to the World." When I chose this show as my inspiration, I knew the "A Blessed Christmas" stamp set would be perfect!
I used a technique that Jennifer McGuire taught in Online Card Classes' "Holiday Card Workshop 2021" for the background rays. I stenciled with pigment ink, & brushed Perfect Pearls onto that.
To stamp my image, I decided to get a little creative. I placed the stamp in my MISTI, & used a sponge dauber to ink up the top part with Stormy Sky Distress Oxide ink. I proceeded down the stamp, with Faded Jeans, Blueprint Sketch, & finally Chipped Sapphire. It took a few impressions to get a good image - one of the joys of the MISTI. I actually ended up going over the Faded Jeans with the Blueprint Sketch, because the former didn't seem to fit the color scheme as well as I had anticipated. Finally, I die cut with one of the "Labels Thirty-Seven" dies.
I stamped the greeting onto another strip of the same Icy Mint cardstock I'd used for the image panel, with Chipped Sapphire Oxide ink. I cut 2 banner ends/tails from the same scrap, & adhered them behind the greeting strip with foam tape.
I adhered my image panel to my background, & added the greeting banner below it. I absolutely love how this simple card came out!
