These tags are for Lori's Falliday Fest challenge. I had done a similar design before (I think with a penguin), & thought it would be cute to do the same style with the bear from "All Inside."
I began by die cutting 4 bears from vellum bristol paper. (The die for that is solid, so you can't really line it up with the stamped image.) I also die cut one bear from scratch paper. I placed another piece of scratch paper in my MISTI, then stamped the bear (which was on the MISTI door) onto that. I lined up the negative die cut area (scratch paper) over the stamped image, & taped that in place. I used that as a template for my remaining die cuts (bristol). All I had to do was pop each of my die cuts into the template, & the image stamped perfectly.
After I stamped the bears, I used my Prismacolor pencils to color them in. I tried to make it somewhat nice, but since these are tags that probably won't be saved, I didn't go all-out with my coloring. If I had to do this again, though, I think I would use my Tombow markers on smooth bristol paper. I also stamped 4 hats & 4 trees from "Bear Ware 2" in Fog ink, colored them, and die cut them out. I went over the eyes & noses on the bears with a black glaze pen, and glued the hats & trees in place.
I taped the "Peek-a-Boo" die in the middle of the tag die, & die cut 4 tags from patterned paper. I also die cut 4 more plain tags from burgundy cardstock to back the patterned ones. I snipped the middle of the opening area with my scissors, & folded the flaps out. Because I didn't want the white of the back of the patterned paper to show, I ended up inking the flaps' undersides with Pine Needles Distress ink.
I popped the bears into the openings in the tags, & glued the bottom of each bear to the back of the tag. Once that glue set up, I glued the backer tags to the patterned paper ones.
I die cut 4 smaller tags for the "to/from" part from ivory cardstock. I stamped the words (from "Color Layering Christmas Tree") in Rich Cocoa ink. I punched 4 burgundy cardstock circles with a 1/4" hole punch, and glued them to the tops of the tags. I let the glue dry, then punched through them with a 1/16" hole punch. I die cut the tag reinforcers for the large tags from the same ivory cardstock, glued them in place, let the glue dry, and punched through their holes with a 1/8" hole punch. Finally, I added some baker's twine through the holes in my large tags & tied a knot in the top. I added twine through the small tags, & tied them to the large tags' twine hangers. These did not come together especially quickly, mostly because of the coloring, but I think they came out great!
