I tend to think in terms of music, often breaking into a song that suits the situation, even though I'm woefully ignorant about pop music. I thought of Candy Girl by The Archies, even watched a video on YouTube. Felt like dancing, so I did. I know the first line of many songs...how do people memorize lyrics????
I also thought of my first recollection of candy, which was the bright candy dots on paper. Why did I like those so much??! They don't taste great, especially when a bit of paper comes off with them. I think I loved the look and colors. So I embossed a white piece with dots and daubed on random colors.
I recently bought this older CS stamp set, thinking 'when will I use this?' Well this week is the week, because of the CAS challenge-sugar skulls/candy. I'm not really into the Day of the Dead but I felt there was a hole in my supplies for Halloween/All Souls/All Saints Day. I have a former flute student whose father is Mexican, she lives in Mexico now so I may send this to her. I love the sketch by the way, so versatile.

This is just fabulous! And even better, your blurb! I always have a song in my head and the same thing happens…stuff reminds me of a song. I know lyrics from songs years and years ago….my family is sometimes in disbelief over it!

Love those colorful candy dots…fun use of the sketch, Jean! I remember eating those candy dots and the colorful candies on elastic that you wore as a necklace!

This is a great combination of challenges and I have to say, your candy dots are genius! I'm not big on skulls, but this one is pretty great with all the flowers. I read your comments with interest - our brains must work differently! I cannot play a musical instrument but I can sing the lyrics to hundreds of songs from the '60's through the mid '90's, I'd say. Doesn't do me any good but it's always fun to sing along!
