CAS659 -- Neutral Encouragement
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: askloeblen

I love the polka dot theme for this week's challenge! I need to make more gender-neutral cards for my stash as I've needed a lot of cards for men at our church recently. Despite the polka dots, ribbon, and sequins, I think this could easily be used for either gender given the neutral color scheme. What do you think?

Stamp sentiment using jet black ink on white panel. Trim, punch top corners, and tear bottom edge. Cut two small pieces of dark brown ribbon; tie one in a knot on the other. Adhere to sentiment panel. Adhere sentiment panel to tan cardstock; trim and tear bottom edge.

Stamp polka dots using timber brown ink randomly around edges of cream cardstock base. Edge cardstock base in timber brown ink. Adhere sentiment panel to front of card. Adhere gold and brown sequins to card front and on layered sentiment panel. Thanks for looking!

Great stamping of the polka-dot background! That's a super encouraging scripture and is perfect for the masculine cards you need for your church ministry!

What a wonderful card of great encouragement, especially NOW with so much of our "normal" lives being changed--depending upon where you live perhaps. This verse is one that so many of us cling onto especially at challenging times. I love that the verse IS the focal point because this is what is most important. I love the mixed fonts in this stamp as well. It's one that I don't have and would like to get... I do find that many of my Bible verse stamps (at least older ones) are too small to be the focal point, but they work well to be stamped inside a card perhaps for a birthday or another occasion such as a thank you card or praying for you card.

I think that this card works extremely well for either gender, definitely works for a masculine card, but you could send it just as easily to a female recipient. Like many, I struggle with making masculine cards, and I am always on the lookout to see how other artists like yourself are creating masculine cards. That dotted DP is wonderful, and I like the frames of color that you have used around the focal message and the patterned paper. Whoever receives this card will be uplifted and encouraged by its message, and also will feel encouraged by receiving a handmade card made just for him, how special is that!!!

I wanted to thank you so very much for your very kind and thoughtful comment on my praying for you hand-stitched card. It was so encouraging, and I think that message with your comment arrived just at a perfect time to uplift me. How cool that we use the same Hero Arts Praying die and stamp set, it's definitely a favorite for sure!!! I love the font of it and I made a number of hand-stitched cards using that same sentiment because it works well for many situations when people need prayer.

I would really like to get involved in some sort of challenges to spur myself on to create on a more regular basis, both faith-based or others.

At any rate, I thank you so much for your lovely comment on my hand-stitched card, and I hope that we will connect again, if you have any suggestions for challenges, I'd be very grateful. Have a very blessed day,

Joanne
