I Whats-Apped a photo of a different card using this verse to a friend on Saturday. Turns out Saturday was her birthday, so I said I'd make a real card and get it in the post to her. She told me not to take the time, but I mailed this this morning.
Embossed the frame in the base, gessoed everything except the centre.
Cut an extra frame, and by the time I'd finished playing around with it, it had been painted with white acrylic, sponged with Victorian Velvet, highlighted with a craft-T rub-on and finally sealed, because the acrylic paint seemed to act as a resist to all the later additions. I stencilled everything except the centre, mostly with victorian velvet, but with some peeled paint round the edges. Stamped the verse, and added the die-cut frame. Edged it with gold Stickles and added to the base. The little spray of foliage was cut from watercolour paper and sponged, with Enamel Accents for the beak, and Stickles on the vein of the leaf.

Wow on the frame-that came out great! The Bg really makes it shine even more. The little details you do like the beak and leaf vein...always sets your work apart.
