Today's challenge utilized the wet on wet technique . . . I ended up using the glob on glob technique because we are back to 26% humidity LOL. Truly, I did not realize how easy it was going to be to get used to painting in the high humidity we had (80%) during the 2 months of our monsoon season. Today I'd make a a few strokes and by the time I reloaded my brush the first area was bone dry. Huh?? Makes it just "a tad" hard to let colors blend naturally. I spent the time while my moon was drying practicing painting pages of trees. I tried quite a few different size brushes but in the end got my best results with a Princeton No.4 long round which really gives me a fine line for the bare tree branches.

Oh goodness, Linda! I get annoyed because I have such a hard time getting certain mediums to dry but after reading your conditions, I think I will take our humidity and enjoy the fact that I have a little extra time when I watercolor. Your painting is stunning! Your moon just glows and I like the perspective you have given your painting with the grounding of your trees.

How interesting about the humidity and drying time with the watercolors. Not something I would think about. I really like the look of your sky and how it looks like a layer of fog has settled in the atmosphere. Your moon is striking with the use of the orange and just a slight amount of highlights. You are proof of the saying, practice makes perfect. Your trees are amazing. Never really thought of a Halloween card with this beautiful moon image. Love your addition to the glowing gallery. Thanks for playing.

you know what's funny? I do not think in this whole time I have been learning to paint that we have even had 25% humidity. so, that is interesting to read, if we actually get snow this winter things could change and its something to try to remember. I love that bare tree so very much it looks so real Linda. This is fabulous.
