When I saw the Peaceful Cabin I thought it might work well with the black ice technique. So I played a bit. There are 4 cards all very similar but using something different. All are 4.25"x5.5"
1 & 2 both use silver foil with basic black, gray granite and basic gray papers. Tin type emboss folder on the basic gray piece and I used a black ink pad to gently highlight the raised portion. The difference is that one used my Stazon as is and the other with it re-inked.
3 Used one of the new foils in the silver foil trio. This is the smooth purplish foil. It uses basic black and retired pale plum and perfect plum. Metallic black ribbon. Same technique as above.
4 Uses retired blue foil. You can find something at a hobby store. Same technique as above. This uses white ink. Black was too dark. Papers are basic white, brilliant blue and seaside spray. Ribbon is metallic seaside spray. I popped up some trees as I did not like the porch shadow...too much white for my taste.
There are many tutorials on the black ice technique. My black lines are not showing up well in the photos. Basically you take a stazon pad and lightly run the edge from left to right and the right to left over the foil. Depending on the size of foil, you may need to make several swipes. Try not to directly touch the paper with your hands. Use paper or something between your hand and the foil to avoid getting oil from fingers on foil.
Next stamp your image. The cabin here. Make sure it is totally dry. Use your heat tool before the next step.
Lightly run the edge of the versamark pad over the foil using the same left to right direction.
Add clear emboss powder and heat.
Cut the different layers and assemble. I did add dimensionsls between the first 3 layers and the second 3 layers.
