Stacy is bringing us the Watercolor Wednesday Challenge this week! I love creating coffee or tea cards so this was a lot of fun! I don't have a stamp that faces downward so I drew my circles with the help of two circle dies. I just placed them on watercolor paper and drew circles inside the dies to form the inner and outer rim of the cup, and added a handle. I wasn't in the mood to draw a saucer under the cup so I searched for a watercolor cup painted from this angle and found another video. I ended up learning from two videos this week. In the second video, I watched the artist painted a blue cup handle so I did too.
I loved Debbie's tip about using two paintbrushes. I had started to do that before I heard the tip so I felt rather smart! Debbie is a dream to listen to and learn from!
The sentiment I used is from IO. You can find this card HERE.

Oh I agree with Sue....fantastic sketching of this rich cup of coffee, and the blue handle makes it all pop. This was a fun technique to do. Like the sentiment...need to go and catch my morning cup. TFS

Oh - the blue really adds some pizzazz to this painting! And i love the bit of blue shadow dripping away from your mug. Such a tiny detail but HUGE impact on the whole look of your piece. You have got to be super proud of this painting!!!

Fabulous. I like that you dispensed with the saucer (I don't know about you, but I always drink coffee out of a mug, sans saucer). The blue handle is the perfect spot of color in this.
