I started a Travel the World card series in 2019, committing to virtually visit a different randomly-selected country each week (for 50 weeks), gathering tidbits of information about the country. I love to travel and this is one way I can "visit" countries that I might otherwise never see. As I learn about each country, I choose something about that country as inspiration for a card.
There are 195 countries in the world so in the first two years of this series I've "visited 100 countries, which means I still have quite a few to go.
This card is inspired by Lebanon, a fairly small country where there here are 21 major daily newspapers. However, the media is at the mercy of political parties for funding, which is also why most of the newspapers offer a biased view of the news.
Please visit my blog for more photos/information about both Lebanon and my card...

I love this -- the idea, the card, the fun facts. What an inspired idea. And what an inspired tidbit (newspapers) to use to represent this destination. Love your coloring and the layout. Those two slim stripes with the brads are great -- what a cool small embellishment that adds so much impact. Great card.

Oh, I just loved reading about your card! My daughter also loved to learn about different cultures and countries when she was growing up. She's passed that onto our grandboys. Last year I sent them a year subscription to a Yum Box. The send a box a month from a different country. It's filled with treats from that country and a booklet about the country. They just loved it.
Anyhow, I absolutely love this image. It's just perfect for Lebanon.
