Hello and TFL,
Here is a sympathy card using Marjolein Bastin poem Blue Against Blue, words for comfort.
I enjoyed layering the Pearl paper tag cut with the Graphic 45 Die, which still shows at the top curved edge and adds interest as a TAG.
I layered it with Black, then Naturals White papers cut in a unique shape to accomodate the section of the Rice Paper i wanted to keep. then rounded the corners.
Adding a piece of Soft sky paper in the shape of the butterfly just to the area directly under the butterfly. this keeps that color strong and not washed out by the white bg. I wet and then tore the edges of the rice paper. adhered the rice paper with Tombow snail tape, in the center, and then sewed it to the Naturals White paper around the edges.
The naturals white paper lets the rice paper really show it's design as it is layered onto the white. However, adding a piece of S U Soft Sky to the back of the Rice paper, ONLY behind the butterfly, keeps it very sky blue
I wanted an elegant, feminine card, to symbolize the wonderful woman who had passed. So I used HALF of the Clock die with added pink rhinestones and seam binding ribbon to symbolize a elegant tiara.
I glued the Tag cut out circle, back into the space, after seeing how the tiara lost a little something with the blue card showing thru. i liked the consistent white Pearl paper background to the gold foil die.
I added the washi tape strips to the base card and then adhered the tag on top. May not have been necessary, but upside it added another vintage touch, and downside it may take away the eye from the unique shape that I had added to the tag
Marjolein Bastin's poem is printed from my pc, on the interior of the base cardstock. It speaks of the Blue Butterfly always being there in the sky, but unseen, our faith and knowledge telling us that we know it is there, even when we can't see it with our eyes.
A beautiful sentiment that I find comforting.
I hope you enjoy my thoughts, sometimes we start a project in our mind's eye and then it continues to morph, good and ?? questionable. I always enjoy any constructive criticism in my journey. feel free! my mojo is just all over the place this year. : (
stay well!
Teresa
