Mary gave us some classic Christmas colors this week. They are perfect for one of my favorite images for holiday cards - poinsettias!
I love how this tropical flower has come to be associated with Christmas. Growing up in Southern California you could grow these outside. We would get one or two every Christmas and my father would plant them against the back fence. After a few years we had a pretty, green hedge on our fence most of the year and then it would be become this beautiful explosion of red and green!
I decided to keep my card CAS ( I am entering in a CAS challenge on another website). For my gold I used washi tape and glitter dots in the flower center.
I hope you find time to join us this week!

CAS but very elegant! I love your beautiful card! I am allergic and cannot have the poinsettias inside- and its cold here at Christmas, so imagine what a beautiful sight that would be at Christmas time to see a row of these gorgeous flowers out your window!

Beautiful CAS poinsettia card, Jeanne! I love the sparkly flower center and the gold washi tape. I had no idea poinsettias could grow into a blooming hedge. I'll bet it was gorgeous!

Jeanne, your poinsettia story is very similar to mine. We also had poinsettia growing in our SoCal backyard. Ours was growing against the garage. Believe it or not, the potted poinsettia that I bought last Christmas is still growing in it's original plastic pot. Not only is it still growing, it's thriving! Mine usually die within a few weeks. Anyway, I digress... Your card is a CAS beauty! It has so much depth and colors look so intense. Love it!
