The Teapot Challenge hostess this week is Lisa. One of her suggestions was to make a card that featured a farm animal for Betty who loves the farm life and will be celebrating her 94th birthday. I cased this card by Gail O'Neil from stampsnstuff.org.
I sponged the sky and then over stamped the chicken wire background with Versafine Onyx Black. To create the dirt portion, I stamped a grunge image with Cinnamon Cider ink and then sponged Soft Suede ink over it. Then I die cut the tiny images, which I suppose may be chicken feed, on that panel and backed that portion of the panel with dark brown cardstock to help them standout. This dirt panel was die cut with the Wavy Stitches die. I also stamped a mat panel with the grunge image and sponged on the soft suede ink.
The silly chicken was stamped with Versamark and Versafine Vintage Sepia inks and clear embossed. It was Copic colored and Wink of Stella was added to the feathers. I die cut an additional chick so that I could stack the chick for dimension. I sponged cardstock with So Saffron and Spiced Marmalade inks to create an ombre sentiment die cut. I also added Wink of Stella to the sentiment. I die cut the corn stalks and ears of corn and adhered them along with the chick to finish the card. Thank you, Lisa, for this fun challenge!

That chicken wire background is so cool and especially paired with the tall corn stalks in the foreground creating the perfect farmyard scene, and that floppy-haired chicken looks ready to start lunching on the feed. This card is delightful on so many levels and is certain to make Betty laugh!

"Aunt" Betty will squeal with delight when she opens the envelope to reveal this super fun card with such awesome details. Your embossing of the chicken is something I would not have thought to do and the way you have colored her is so, so good! Well done, my friend for this challenge!

Oh yay, what total fun. I've always loved those chicks, and the newer dies are a great addition to go with them. Love the ombre on your corn and matching birthday sentiment.

This looks a lot like the card that I CASED last week! You do farm so well, Rita! I just love those cornstalks and chicken wire. Love that bit of sponging on the die cut birthday. All the details are fab!
