Here is my first center-step card that I've made from start to finish with my own template design for a larger 4-3/4 x 6-inch card. To help me redesign the dimensions, it is a remake of a card I made at my Stampin' Up demonstrator duo's card event back in the fall of 2017, which I loved! What can I say; I'm not very adventuresome, especially since it involved refiguring the template dimensions in order to remake it into the larger size. I kept the original card (Luci Kirschbaum's design) to use as a guide, which helped me figure it all out much easier.
Because my card is larger, I was able to add a third layer, starting with a black card base, followed with a white mat layer, followed by the card front and die-cut elements. (The original design was only two layers, starting with a white card base and card front only).
In re-designing my card, I was able to find 14 catch-up challenges to enter, listed below:
1) DINSP0521 - Fan Club Monthly Theme--May 2021/ Family Tree! - 5/17/21. My card meets the monthly theme with this family tradition: We start each Christmas Eve by coming together at the Christmas Eve Vigil mass...then we move on to our traditional soup night and family presents at our home. It is a wonderful tradition and started when we moved to Washington and my four children were VERY young. This card is for the Inspiration Photo challenge. I was inspired by the colors and the pictures which remind me of the church windows!
2) CCC21MAY - Christmas Card Challenge--May 2021/ Fun Folds! - 5/1/21. My fun fold is a center-step card.
3) AOCC21 - All Occasions Card Challenge--MAY 2021 - 5/1/21. One of my May goal Christmas cards for my stash.
4) USEIT2021 - Use It Challenge/ MAY 2021 - 5/1/21. This is an ongoing/ annual challenge requiring you to use old, long unused items gathering dust AND/OR old/ new items purchased but seemingly forgotten...never opened or used! One of my needed Christmas cards for my stash. I used the OLD stamp/die set...Hearts Come Home/ Home Town Greetings and the Merry Music Specialty dsp from 2017.
5) F4A564 - Free 4 All Challenge/ Winter Scenes - 12/11/20. My card...a snowy Christmas Eve.
6) ABC13OW15 - Alphabet Challenge--Round 13/ Loving Letters--Letters OW - 7/8/20. My cards letter O is for Overlays (white overlay on gold; black overlay on white). My letter W is for lots of White cardstock.
7) S2S20MAY - Stamp 2 Save (aka Stamp 2 Support One Another)/ Travel Dreams - 5/7/20. Challenge: show where you might like to travel. My card depicts a travel adventure back to the Big Island of Hawaii. My husband and I were travelling south along the Mamalahoa Hwy. from Kona to Hilo, Hawaii. It is only a three-hour drive, so we were leisurely stopping as we found interesting places to visit along the way. The church on my step-card reminds me of the quaint little old church we happened upon and stopped to visit in our travels, because it reminded us of the historic old church that we attended. A revisit to a leisurely Hawaiian vacation would be wonderful!
IC740 - Inspiration Challenge/ Stencil Girl - 2/8/20. I found this stencil of what looks like an old-fashioned, historical church as my inspiration: Icelandic Church Stencil!
9) MSP25 - MISTI Monthly Mondays--September 2019/ Silhouettes in September - 9/4/19. My card depicted white silhouetted die-cuts on a dark night sky.
10) WT728 - Ways to Use It Challenge/ Fancy Folds - 2/21/19. Challenge: use a fancy fold on your card...your choice. My card is a center-step card made larger than the traditional A2-sized cards.
11) MMTPT549 - Teapot Challenge/ If You Build It - 1/29/19. Challenge: use architecture, designing, building supplies, furniture, etc. I love the architecture of churches...from Notre Dame Cathedral to the simplest country church. This church reminds me of the 1905 historical church that we attended with our family until the "new" church was built. The "old" church still stands and is used for weddings and other nostalgic parish events.
12) CAS486 - Clean & Simple Challenge/ Let's Celebrate - 6/18/18. Challenge: Make a card about celebration...This card is in celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ!
13) FS585 - Featured Stamper Challenge/ SuzyS1104 - 4/22/18. Suzy has a lovely gallery to browse and I enjoyed my visit. I chose this card to CASE: CYSDEC--Peace! The snowflakes and building dies were what drew me to it. I retained Suzy's card theme: Christmas, and put buildings on my card as well. I went for a black & white step card with a church building as my main focus. I also added gold foil under my buildings to get the effect of the glow of lights inside on a dark starlight night.
14) SCSCCFEB17 - Fan Club Monthly Christmas Card Challenge--February 2017/ Home - 2/1/17. Challenge: create a card with a house, church, door, window, etc...something to represent a home. I've chosen a church for my "home."
Ingredients: Stampin' Up products: Cardstocks--Basic Black, Whisper White, Gold foil. Patterned paper--Merry Music Specialty (2017 Holiday). Stamps--Hearts Come Home/ Dies--Home Town Greeting. Punch--Confetti Stars Border. Embossing Powder: Gold. Size: 4-3/4 x 6-inches.

Yes, I remember when I was the Featured Stamper. This is a beautiful card! I love all the layers and the added touch of yellow for the windows. Great fun fold!
