This is my Sister-in-Law #3 birthday card needed in early July. It makes the five alternative card design I've made from the SU 2019 Made to Bloom card kit. For this card, I used its patterned paper, floral pieces, ink, and a sentiment stamp all from the kit. I added a Poppy Parade cardbase, a gold foil mat layer, and gold foil die-cuts from two different die sets, combining them for a new double-stitched frame. I love stretching my materials to make something new! I also fussy-cut two oval floral wreaths in the kit removing the two smaller bouquets to place around my gold framing.
Playing my "Challenge Catch-up cardmaking, I was able to find 14 challenges to help me formulate my design. Some are challenges in July and some are really old, see list below:
AOCC21 - All Occasions Card Challenge/ July 2021 - 7/1/21. This challenge is monthly and encourages you to set goals ahead for each month to help you complete and mail your cards timely! My card is for a July birthday card I needed and delivered!
USEIT2021 - Use It Challenge/ July 2021 - 7/1/21. This is an ongoing/ annual challenge requiring you to use old, long unused items gathering dust AND/OR old/ new items purchased but seemingly forgotten...never opened or used! My OLD/NEW item(s): None. My OLD elements used: Made to Bloom Kit pieces; MFT Stitched Oval Scalloped Frame; Floral Rhinestone gems (inside).
S2S21MAY - Stamp 2 Save (aka Stamp 2 Support One Another)/ May Flowers - 5/3/21. Feature spring flowers.
WT835 - Ways to Use It Challenge/ It's Sentimental - 3/11/21. Challenge: Use a large focal sentiment on your card...may use patterned papers, stencils, or inked backgrounds.
F4A578 - Free 4 All Challenge/ How Does Your Garden Grow? - 3/19/21. Some type of Garden should be your theme. My theme is a flower garden.
MSP41 - Misti Monthly Mondays--January 2021/ Cheer-Up Buttercup! - 1/4/21. Challenge: Make a card to cheer someone up, plus use an element from sample card. My sister-in-law will definitely be cheered up to receive my homemade birthday card. My similar elements: layered florals, scallop edging, yellows.
MIX376 - Mix-Ability Challenge/ Keep Your Distance! - 4/10/20. Challenge: Use two (or more but not over 10) of same thing on your card...leave space between. I've used two bouquets of flowers which are on opposite sides of the oval from one another. Mediums: dye-based stamping ink; Acrylic Glitter glaze.
ABC12O25 - Alphabet Challenge--Round12/ Inside Out--Letter O - 3/11/20. My O = Oval
SC773 - Sketch Challenge - 10/30/19. Sketch Tweaking: The overlapping circles have become an oval, plus the two floral bouquets.
MMTPT521 - Teapot Challenge/ Troubled Waters - 7/17/18. Challenge: use landscape picture colors for inspiration. As I'm playing my "Challenge Catch-up cardmaking and completing this three-year old challenge just for the fun of it, my card will be for my sister-in-law.
IC710 - Inspiration Challenge/ Ten Thousand Villages - 7/13/19. I chose this item for its color and flower inspiration: Upcycled Sari Apron!
WORD0918 - Fan Club Monthly Theme--September 2018/ Cutting Class - 9/17/18. My card meets theme by using fussy-cutting and die-cutting. It is for the WORD challenge: TRIM. My elements are: T=tape glider, two-die framing; R=rhinestone floral gems(inside); I=ink, ink-stamped; M=mat layers, metallic cs, metallic gems, Made to Bloom kit pieces.
CAS477 - Clean & Simple Challenge/ Anzac Remembrance...April 25 - 4/16/18. Challenge: Red Poppies are worn in Australia on Anzac Remembrance Day in honor of war veterans. Show poppies on your card.
FS570 - Featured Stamper Challenge/ Who's Got Inky Fingers?...aka Tracy_inkyfingers...aka Tracy Freeman - 1/6/18. Beautiful gallery and fun to browse. I chose this card to CASE because the florals and metallic framing caught my eye and it would work nicely with the Made to Bloom kit pieces I could use: Together we bloom!
