Chris is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week. She has given us a classic palette to work with: Basic Black, Basic White and Real Red. All this month, the dessert option is Christmas in July.
I had several ideas for cards for this week, but after seeing Sam Donald/aka Pootles showing how to make an adorable little pouch, I decided these would be great table favors for Christmas dinner. You can see Sam's video .
Following the video step-by-step made cutting and assembly easy. The only changes I made were that I added DS paper to the back (2-3/4" x 4") as well as the to front and that I glued the bottom shut. I'm thinking a few Ghirardelli chocolate squares would fit and would be a lovely treat.
The poinsettia is die-cut from Real Red cardstock. Real Red ink was sponged into the openings in the dies to create the detail on the petals. A tiny golden enamel dot decorates the center of the flower. The little "Joy" tag dangles from a loop of gold thread.
Looking forward to seeing so many red, white and black creations in the gallery this week. Please join us!

Barbara, this is simply stunning. Love everything about this gorgeous design. Wouldn't mind having a little clutch bag that looked just like this. SO pretty.

This is fabulous! Luv everything about this - wonderful DP. Very elegant addition to your Christmas table and how perfect to place chocolate inside. Yes, we did use the same poinsettia dies. I have used this set so many times, in fact it took me 3 years to get my hands on them - they kept selling out. This is a fav for sure!
