My inspiration were these purple flowers: https://pin.it/1YRIcst. I made this ATC for a swap. The theme is âtorn paper.â I used a technique called chigiri-e. Chigiri-e (ã¡ããçµµ) is a Japanese art form in which the primary technique uses colored paper that is torn to create images. I learned this technique in a papercrafting class in Hawaii. A fibrous paper is dampened in water and then the colored fibers are teased apart with a tweezers and used to âpaintâ a picture. Crystal Effects was added to the bucket. Liquid pearls and Stickles were added to the daisies. I used fingernail decor butterflies for embellishments.

I absolutely love your work of art, with those beautiful torn purple and yellow flowers in that chic-elegant silver bucket. Also love all the sparkle, and those sweet little butterflies. Fabulous creation! And now I’m off to explore the art of Chigiri-e (never heard of it) to find yet another creative outlet for my beautiful Washi and mulberry papers. Thanks so much for sharing your work and introducing us to a new paper crafting technique!!
