Saturday my SILs and BFF got together and made cards, trying some new techniques for them. We tried 'swinking' the distress ink pad over embossed white CS... trying the opposite of white ink over embossed colored CS. I completed my card but wasn't quite happy with my results so today tried making a recovery.
First a piece of vellum CS was cut smaller than the embossed-inked image.
The "happy" was cut from black CS and the shadow from vellum. I cut two more 'happy' from white fun foam. One fun foam was adhered to the back of the happy's vellum shadow.
The second fun foam was adhered to the underside of the large vellum piece, aligned to underside of the happy on the front.
Adhere the large piece of vellum to the card front by applying adhesive to the back side of the happy fun foam and adhere to card front. The large vellum piece will be slightly floating.
Stamp the 'Thankful for you' in black ink then cut out and cut away the 'thankful'. Adhere to front of vellum.
Photo barely shows the 3 hearts near lower right. Swiped Salvaged Patina over white CS then punched out hearts with border punch. Adhered 3 hearts to front then applied Wink of Stella to the hearts.
I will be seeing my niece tomorrow. She recently got engaged to a wonderful young man. Needless to say, I'm so happy for her.
