Thank you, Jeanne, for the color challenge of using some really lovely new colors, Fresh Fresia and Polished Pink. The third color for the challenge is that good old reliable Old Olive. For dessert we can add gems to the card.
On a piece of vellum I have randomly added the challenge colors using Blends before using a paint brush dipped in 91% alcohol to force the colors to run and smear. You really just let the alcohol do all the work. The brush merely gets the alcohol where you want it so that your entire piece of vellum is covered. You may then use the piece as is or you can die cut or punch images from it. The dandelion was colored by just using Blends.
There is a video by Tina Zinck on YouTube demonstrating the alcohol technique. Inspiration was also derived from a lovely card by Hideko Lagan

Oh, my goodness, Penni, this card is stunning! I am in awe of your ink-blended panel (I thought you were using some of that pretty new DS paper!). The rest of the card--and the envelope--are lovely, too, especially the ink blending on your flowers!

This is gorgeous Penni! What a marvelous background. I have been wanting to try this for some time but haven't had the chance. I think I may be afraid that once I start I won't be able to stop. However, you've shown me that may not be a bad thing.

Penni this clean and simple card is awesome! I've yet to try the eye catching technique with vellum, this is simply beautiful! TFS, this is such a great inspiration to me!

I love everything about this from the Slimline design and how you've incorporated "shorter" rectangles, the marbling with Blends and the beautifully colored dandelion. Just beautiful!
