A big thanks to our host, Jeanne for choosing Seaside Spray, Crushed Curry, and Garden Green as this weekâs challenge colors. If youâd like to add another color, you can! Thatâs the dessert option.
I made this card for a teacher friend of mine who is retiring at the end of this school year. She happens to be my best friend and a person who truly appreciates handmade cards.
To be honest, this card took a lot of time and effort as well as a bit of frustration. I had to run the cover die through my die cutting machine several times. First, to do the background in âSeaside Sprayâ. Then I ran it through with white cardstock because I wanted to color each petal and leaf with Copic markers. I used shades that are similar to the challenge colors. For dessert, pink was added as my color of choice.
This cover die produces about 50+ pieces that I had to put together like a puzzle. Some of the pieces are so tiny! I lost many of them along the way. Thatâs why I had to run it through again and again until I had each and every piece. Yes, it was a lot of work, but well worth it.
Thanks for looking!

this is a beautiful retirement card for your bestie. I love the cover die and your copic coloring. I have a couple of dies like this one and I know the frustration when you are piecing them back in- but it was a labor of love

Wonderful card with lots of pieces : ) What a thoughtful card for your friend that is retiring! Lots of heart and soul went into it- and I think she will be able to tell that!

A good friend is worth the effort. This is a beauty, and will be cherished all the more since she loves hand-made cards. Love the bold color you added.
