Well, hopefully (fingers crossed), our COVID-induced isolationism will end soon; but my art journal cohorts and I have decided that we liked this project so much that we will continue it. So, our current theme -- can you guess -- is animals. And because of my great friend Faith, I have an extensive collection of African animals so it was an easy choice. Since I always get some marks or stray ink on the backside and when I try to fix that I get a mark or ink again on the front side, I just do two separate pages now and glue them together.
To create the pages, I started with a piece of 8 1/2"x11" card stock and ink blended the Distress Inks across the page so I would have the same pattern front and back. I prefer the vivid colors of DOX, but used Distress Ink since I knew I would be stamping in black and DOX mutes the inks so much. I used a blending brush initially, but wasn't getting enough color with the spiced marmalade so I swiped it direct to paper and then took the brush and rubbed/blended over it a bit. It made some interesting textures and definitely amped up the color. Stamped the scene and adhered the letters. On the back page, I stenciled the leaves with the two green DOX. And added the sentiment.
I created the sentiment on the computer using Arial, Bleeding Cowboys and Gloss and Bloom fonts. I don't know if I heard this phrase from someone else or created it myself; but, I have definitely heard this perspective expressed many times over the year. So, if I appropriated someone's quote without noting so, I apologize. I did do a quick Google search but nothing showed up.
I hope your day is filled with color and something "wild" because I truly do believe that nature and wild places are essential to the quality of our lives. TFL

Both fantastic! Inking, beautiful, design on both perfect. Stenciling terrific. Double layered greeting on 1st and bold headline on 2nd, excellent!
