Rita inspired us with stories of both her grandmas' gardens and I have my own grandma story. I grew up in an apartment in New York - Manhattan, and my grandma Mimi lived in the Bronx. It was a treat for us apartment dwellers to visit the "country" of her backyard. In the spring, when the lilies of the valley bloomed, we would pick a bunch, wrap it in waxed paper held together with a rubber band, and bring our flowers home. I still love the scent of lily of the valley and have a big patch under my kitchen window. Thanks, Rita, for the walk down memory lane!

such a lovely way to make your memory the focal point! The stenciled background is pretty. And your memories were fun to read. Isn't it amazing what will trigger a memory, visual or sense of smell.
I have that stamp and my mother was 'Mimi', too. Must dig out my lillies of the valley.

I have to comment on this card. Being born in May it was a natural that I have always loved Lily of the Valley. That scent and those delicate little bells- what could be more beautiful? My regret in living in CA is that I cannot grow them at my home. My Mom has the entire side of her house full of the flowers. So your card brings me many memories. And your card is classic and lovely.
