This fishy card was made for Retro Rubber Challenge Blog #153 Tic-Tac-Toe challenge. I chose the diagonal starting from the upper left (Birthday, Ocean, Blue) https://www.retrorubberchallengeblog...c-tac-toe.html
As always, I started out with one idea, and it morphed into a window sheet card! Of course the most important requirement when making a card for RRCB is that you use a stamp that is at least 1-yr old. In my case, I used TWO: Stampin' Up! (SU) 1997 "Fish Frolics", and 2011 "Petite Pairs"!!!
I started by embossing a 4--1/4"x 5-1/2" piece of SU Marina Mist cardstock inside the SU "Seaside" embossing folder. Then realized the embossing made the light blue sheet too weak to stand on its own, so cut a piece of thick white cardstock to be the base of the card so it was a top opening card. I then trimmed off all but 1" of the front of the card base. I glued the embossed blue piece to the inside of the card, and then cut a strip of the same blue cardstock to 1"x4-1/4" and embossed it in the same folder.
A piece of clear acetate was cut to 4-1/4"x 5-1/2" and glued to the 1" piece of card base that was going to be the front of the card. Then the 1" embossed piece was glued over the top of it.
I stamped the fish using Pacific Point ink onto SU Marina Mist cardstock, then fussy cut the three fish out. I mounted them to the acetate using Scor-Tape to ensure they stuck well to the slippery acetate surface.
To the base of the card front I glued a 1-1/2"x 4-1/4" piece of tan cardstock to stiffen the acetate so it would stand. On this I stamped sand from the SU "Fish Frolics" stamp set. I then stamped the coral from the same stamp set using SU Groovy Guava ink on Grapefruit Grove cardstock, and fussy cut it out. I did the same for the green seaweed. I attached the coral to the "sand" using adhesive foam strips, and simply glued the seaweed to the "sand". The birthday sentiment is from the SU "Petite Pairs" stamp set. I stamp it with black ink.
I am rating the difficulty level of this window sheet card as a "3" out of a possible "5". This is primarily because of all the steps, and careful measurements you need to do. Of course, fussy cutting the fish and sea bottom items didn't make it any easier ;-)
