This card was very easy to make. I had previously made the BG panel simply by rolling off paint from my brayer and tossed it into my stash for a future day. Today was the day to use it. Blue is my favourite colour and I love this lime green with it. I was going to use the panel for an ocean scene but when I saw it I decided to use it for this card.
I also have had the Sugar Pea Designs stamp and die set since I watched a Jennifer McGuire video years ago on Kindness Matters. I think I have only stamped one stamp from the set once, so it was time to break it open again and this challenge was the perfect time.
I stamped the word Kindness in black and die cut it, but then decided to die cut it again in Orange. There must have been some ink on the die from cutting the black and some of it ended up on the orange but I liked the distress look. Stamped the rest of the sentiment, added WoS and sequins.
I thought I was done, but I am currently am the shabby chic look and have made a couple of cards recently using cheesecloth and adding stitching. So I find myself distressing the edges before plonking the panel on my cloth.
It's such a simple way to create a card but I do like the effect with the different textures. Hope it inspires you to try it.
Our DGD says it's always good to be nice and kind. It's definitely contagious.
TFL. Happy day

You have inspired me Jayne. I recently bought some cheesecloth. I like the way you plonked your panel on it and stitched and distressed. I don’t know though, I don’t get along with my sewing machine. But this card is wonderful!

Well you know that I love your background, the blue and the green are gorgeous together and are my two favorite colors. I like the stitching around the border and the texture of the cheesecloth. Beautiful card, Jayne!
