This card is for Gracie's Teapot Tickle Challenge. Gracie likes red....so do I and usually in my wine glass LOL.
That's how I arrived at my card. I think I may have been drinking a cheeky little red at the time when the inspiration happened.
Meet Ethel. She has been in my card gallery before. Ethel also likes a cheeky little red. She was stamped on white CS initially and then stamped again on a red textured piece of paper with gold thread through it that has been in my stash forever. You can just see a thread on her snazzy red dress. Finally, she was stamped on some red and gold Japanese washi paper.
Then the fun began....fussy cutting out the pieces for her dress, headband and sofa chair and piecing them all together. It's amazing what you can achieve after a little red. Her hair was supposed to be purple but the colours seemed to end up being a mucky brown so stickles was added as well as on her nails, stockings, shoes and earrings. After all Ethel does like to dress up.
The border and flowers die cut out of the same paper as Ethel's chair.
Red metallic paper added and Ethel plonked on top of an oval die cut...in red of course. It was at this stage that the sentiment came into my head. I imagined Ethel with her mates chatting about Gracie's challenge and one of them mentioning it was her time for bed, but Ethel being Ethel put her mates right. No dears, not bed, the lady said red, lots of red LOL.
Sentiment typed and printed on copy paper and sponged lightly in red and it wouldn't be me if I didn't doodle or add some lines.
I hope whoever receives this "Tickle" will see my sense of humour and perhaps doesn't mind a cheeky little red now and again themselves. The photo seems to have made Ethel a little blue in parts but it's much brighter IRL.
TFL. Happy day

Ethel sure knows how to keep the red flowing, doesn’t she?! Oh, my goodness, she is one very happy lady. Pour me a glass of red, I’ll be right over, Jayne.
So red, so creative, so you. Love Ethel in all her glory.

What a FUN card! (And lots of work went into its making, but well worth it.) Love all the paper piecing, the sequined flowers, the glitz and glitter, the clever sentiment, and, of course, Ethel’s glass of red before bed!

Just been sitting here taking in this very creative scene. Ethel is really enjoying her glass (perhaps that should be bottles) of red. Just look at all the work and detail that has gone into this. Wonderful.
