The doodlebug bit on Friday night and I decided I must Zentangle all three challenges. I had an absolute blast! I know this looks like it would take hours but it probably took about 30 to 45 minutes. I tangle quickly!
I chose my title for two reasons: everyone knows the song 'In the Good Old Summertime' and it was written by a Wisconsin favorite son, Les Paul. He was a jazz, country and blue guitarist and pioneered the solid-body electric guitar. He is also credited with many recording innovations. He played and recorded with the Andrews Sisters, Bing Crosby and many others. At the age of 90, he won two Grammys.
Kim's challenge was to represent summertime concerts in the park. I used to play in summertime concerts, back in the day, with the community band. We'd run through the tunes the same day as the concert. Some of the stuff we played, like show tunes from musicals, were darn hard so it was a sight reading challenge. I used an old piece of my sheet music and tangled trees, hills and drew in a park bench and a little swing. I used mostly black pen but did add a few green accents with gel pens. This is also from yesterday's IC and this was my inspiration: https://www.pinterest.de/pin/300333868905730147/
A lot of black and white, I used the Knightsbridge tangle on the tree on the right to match the chess board floor, there is a bench and some greenery.
