I chose a beginner watercolor scene tutorial for this week's Watercolor Wednesday Challenge. I did this painting very quickly because I just didn't have much watercolor practice time this week. If I can squeeze a little more time, I would like to do this again.
The scene reminded me of many evenings after long hikes in the Smokey Mountains. We would find an open spot and watch the sun go down. So many sweet memories!
This week we are following .
and are a treasure trove of tips, I would recommend watching if you are new to watercolor.
I decided to add a sentiment to the inside especially for my backpacking husband. An excerpt from the stamped sentiment is: May your trails be crooked, winding......Leading to the Most Amazing Views. If you would like to take a look, I have it blogged HERE.

Gorgeous scene, so beautifully done. And, I love the inside sentiment. I know your hubby loves this card. Great colors for your sky.

Thanks for those videos - really helpful. Have all sorts of watercolour paper - not even sure what some is! Your scene is lovely with that pinkish look to the sky

"Practice," Angela? My friend, you don't need any "practice" - this piece is an example of how perfect your watercolor work already is! Oh my! Thank you so much for sharing, and for the excuse to try painting one of my favorite of God's amazing creations - MoUntAiNs! (Insert "heart eyes" here. hehe)

That rosy pink sky just beckons and I love the transition of your gradient mountains with the farthest having a "smoother" look but more rugged detail coming out with each succeeding layer. Very natural looking peaks and valleys, too.
