Another title for this card could be 'In Memory of the Amethyst.' When I got engaged back in 1974, I didn't want anything to do with a typical engagement ring. In the jeweler's window was this emerald cut amethyst ring, not a very good amethyst but it was only $99 and I loved it. I was not a high maintenance bride. I'm not married anymore and my amethyst is gone but, in a way, I still love that stone. That's why I included this in the IC.
The title of my card is about the three little figures in the distance. I'm taking a walk with my girlies, Clare and Mirren, up in the bluffs of LaCrosse, WI. The bluffs of western Wisconsin are magical, you can see way into Minnesota and Iowa.
I really enjoyed painting this scene for the WCW challenge this week. I wish the artist wouldn't move so fast in the video and a little talking would have been helpful, but I'm pleased with the outcome.

Jean, this scene is just beautiful. I love how you watercoloured it. Such a lovely sunset walk with your girls. I sure would love to see those Wisconsin bluffs.

I agree 100% with your assessment of the artist in the vid - way too fast for us real beginners and explanation on WHY we're doing some of these thing would certainly be helpful. You did a great job of personalizing this scene by adding you & your girls heading up the roadway. I love the banks of amethyst behind your tall bare trees and you did really nailed the perspective so we know that we the viewers are standing quite a ways down the road from where the walkers are heading toward the horizon.

Great job on your winter scene....like how you personalized it with your daughters. The bluffs are beautiful. We do live in a beautiful state, but right now it's pretty cold. You created the cold with your cool amethyst and the shadows. Always pleased to see your creation in the challenges. Stay warm. Hugs
