Finally got time to try the northern lights and winter snows. I've only been lucky enough to see the northern lights once when I was about 10 years old and wanted to try to paint what I remembered them looking like then. So pink and green it was with my midnight blue sky. ( and isn't it fun that when the pink and blue ran together, I got some purple fingers of light, too!) Wasn't sure when this was wet just WHAT I had but liked the results as it dried. I actually struggled more with the shadows in the snow and need more practice time on those but even so, I'm pleased with overall illusion.

Oh, I love the angle of your lights! This is so beautiful! I love how your colors moved together and made another color. Stunning! I like the soft shadows on the snow. You created a beautiful painting!

Linda, this is absolutely gorgeous! I grew up in Wisconsin, so I was able to see the Northern lights at least once or twice a year! They are so amazing! The colors in the sky are constantly moving. You captured your memory beautifully!

Yes, those shadows....they were challenging. The good this is you could always do more...I thought I did too much. Love your color choices. Lucky you to see them once...im assuming it wasn't in Texas!!

Amazing This is now I imagine the Northern Lights would look, although they are so different in all the pictures I've seen. I would've to see them in person someday too. Your colors are spectacular, as is your sky. I love the shadows you created. Softly reflecting the colorful sky. Beautiful scene...I wish I was right there at the vortex of those lights. Ahhhhhh.

Linda, this is glorious with the addition of pink in the sky. And love the combo of blue and pink giving you purple! Love the trees and deer too. Wonderful scene!
