This card is for Teapot Tuesday.
Did you know that for centuries, the ginkgo tree has served as a symbol of hope and peace in its native land of China? And that after the nuclear bomb was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945 the ginkgo trees fully recovered and are now regarded as a symbol of endurance and vitality?
Hope and peace, endurance and vitality. Much needed in our world these days.

I did know about after the bomb, but I didn't know about the earlier symbolic meaning. I think they're a beautiful leaf, and the gold on black looks so lovely.
Just occasionally - about 3 times in 12 years, I have found one on the sidewalk on the way to work. I have no idea where it comes from, I haven't seen a tree anywhere in the area and I only know of one near us - but it always has felt like a gift on those days I have found one. I hope Paul feels the same with this card.

The gold, black & Red is such a classic pairing of colors for all things oriental. I love the addition of the GO yen piece ( I won't part with any of my hoarded coins) Really nicely done Vicky.
