Our tea party today is for Paul who lost both his wife and his mother last month and needs some paper hugs. I took my inspiration today straight from the teapot as I wanted to keep my card a bit more CAS and masculine feeling.
I stamped the kanji then over-stamped with the Spring Blossoms. These were colored with prismacolor pencils and then the buds fill with Nuvo's Morning Dew drops for a bit of texture & shine. I added this Unity sentiment from the 'Life Touches' set and hope it will bring some comfort to Paul.
From my time living in Japan, I know that most things created there are finished with a bit of gold, so I built a gold frame which really added to the richness of this otherwise simple picture.

Beautiful, Linda, and your sentiment is so touching and heartfelt! Your flowers are quite vibrant and seem to give off a glow of their own. Your gold framing finishes this off so well~

I knew you had been in Japan but it didn't realise it had been for as long as four years. You must have great memories from that time. This is just so beautiful. It reminds me of some old - I don't know, maybe they were meant as bookmarks but they were calendars with a strip for each month, done exactly in this style. But without the beautiful gold framing. They're probably the first oriental images that stuck in my memory.

Perfection from the background script, the beautiful flowers, the wonderful sentiment to the gorgeous gold framing. I am sure your thoughts and wishes for his comfort will shine through when he views this. That sentiment is ideal for this occasion. Stunning.
