Poster: Eager Beaver

Several days ago I saw something on TV that reminded me of seeing a herd of birds flying into our large, extremely thick and bushy lilac bush. It's a beautiful reblooming lilac. When we bought it the write up about it said it grows to 6 ft. x 6 ft. We call it Gargantuan. It is now 10 ft. high and 12 ft. wide. Anyway...every so often a very large swarm of sparrows does a kamikaze attack on it. I often wondered how in the world they could go charging into that dense bush without getting all their little eyes poked out. A refrain is whispering through the back of my brain. As a child it was a particularly loud refrain....."Don't do that!!! You'll get an eye poked out!" Well, I never did it, so I don't know if that was just an idle Mom threat or for real. But I know I still won't do it. I wonder if any mama birds yell that in their little bird voices as they are all heading into the bush. Or maybe they just stay home and spare themselves the worry.

Well, stay healthy and keep stamping! That way you won't poke an eye out.....well, most of us anyway.
