Yes - this is the Online Shopping Squirrel that accompanies me every time I go looking at craft shops. I always hear him yelling "lets go nuts" softly in my ear. He is great at making things jump into my shopping cart too!!
I made this faux wood grain a few months ago and this MIX Challenge has come along at a good time. First of all I used an embossing folder to emboss the white card with the ferns. Next I scored the embossed panel. Using the mini distress inks is the best way to go when sponging colour - I am just as likely to drop the regular sized ink pad where it is not needed - so small is the go. Using the lightest colour sponge the first layer adding a darker layer and finally the darkest colour. Used a small sponge brush to scrub some extra colour where it was needed.
I enjoyed learning this technique and found that you could sponge both sides for a totally different look giving you more to play with too.
Hope you enjoy.

I love the combination of the ferns with the woodgrain, great combination. Sadly the non-native grey squirrels have almost completely supplanted our native reds, which are much prettier.
