I had created this background in a similar fashion as Debbie did with hers. I smeared Distress Oxide ink on a craft mat (Dusty Concord and two blues, unknown colors) and then spritzed with water. Instead of using a brayer as Debbie did (I need to try that), I placed the paper upside down on the ink puddle and moved it a little bit. Very cool. The shimmery paper looks awesome in the light!
As Debbie did, I stamped a sentiment on the panel, which I heat embossed in silver. Instead of stenciling (which looks so cool on her card), I silver heat embossed random dots in the lower left (like a butterfly trail); die-cut a silver foil butterfly for the center. Added three silver foil flower sequins. It is so sparkly and shimmer IRL.
Thank you Debbie for sharing your cards with us and for inspiring mine today! TFL

Diane, your bg is AWESOME. I wish you remembered the two colors of blue because I would definitely use this combo. So now I can create a bunch of bg trying to duplicate it. LOL I use the brayer technique, which does soften the colors, because when I just smoosh it often looks too blobby. Your colors look so fabulous, I need to practice straight up smooshing again. Those dots trailing the butterfly look fabulous. Another idea I need to "borrow" from you. And, the silver was the perfect choice adds more shine. This is so BEAUTIFUL. TFS.

I thought I had commented on this, but I see I did not, lol.....This is a gorgeous background with the silver butterfly. Love the silver embossed dots and tiny flowers. This butterfly is flying up to a magical sky! Just dreamy looking.
