Thrilled to see that Debbie is recognized as FS today. I like having an identity with the FS and even though her gallery is still growing, I enjoy her comments on my work and her commitment to the challenges. Makes me want to CASE her even more. This is what I chose, I had FAVEd it: CAS582 This Old Chair by DebbieinOC at Splitcoaststampers
Because of one4joy, I have purchased 'furniture' stamps. I always love when she uses furniture and makes a 'room' of sorts. I haven't used these stamps in quite a while but when I saw that card of Debbie's, it really spoke to me. I think about people in this country and world who don't even have a chair that they can call their own. I think about how my chairs have been empty of friends this past year (!!!!!). I think about how much I love the homes I've had, whether owned or rented, and how I like to make them my nest and a place of comfort. I think about how much I long to be with people but I'm too leery so I say 'no' to any invitation. Almost all of my good friend's family have had Covid since Christmas. They are busy people, like to be out and about, volunteering to help, but obviously, somehow and somewhere, it bit them. Fortunately all fairly mild cases (even her 90 something year old parents!!) but still......I'm so torn. Like Debbie's card, I dream of a day when I can say 'yes', wholeheartedly and with no concern. I dream of a day when we all will have a warm place with a comfortable chair. Maybe some will say I'm living in fear; I'm not. I'm living in caution and care for others. I don't want to look back and wish I had done otherwise. Pull up a chair!

This is wonderful, Jean! I love your furniture stamps & the bg is terrific. I hear you. I do go out, but I have to be careful..I have a really bad history w/ viruses. The plain ol' flu shots make me sick for 3 days.

great minds are out there creating in harmony...your chairs are perfectly suited for Thoreau's quote. Your layout is so interesting...love the movement. I've scrolled up and down at least a dozen times...a feast for thought here. nicely stapled in two hues, too!

Oh Jean, I love this creation. What a wonderful and thought-provoking piece. The chairs; the layout; the sentiments; the colors; the textures. Everything pulls together a beautifully crafted concept of self, friends and community. Wow.
I can only say, as much as I love your card, I LOVE your write-up. You articulate so well what so many of us are feeling. My hubby and I constantly wonder if we are indeed the "weirdos" staying holed up. Then remind ourselves, "yeah, it's ok until it isn't and then it might be too late". So, we stay huddled too. I'm optimistic that things will be better and brighter -- maybe not as soon as I would like, but it's going to happen. Thanks for the beautiful card and the even more beautiful prose.

Great card. Love the rustic background - goes so well with all the stamps and theme. Yes - we have all been spending far more time in our lounge chairs than we used to of late. A comfortable and safe place to be.

OH my gosh, I love your stamps and quotes! This is soooo fabulous, Jean. I so agree with you that we have to be even more diligent these days! Getting out sounds fun but the risk is too great. GREAT case and GREAT card. Hugz
