For this week's Teapot Tuesday, I finally tried making a popup box card, 6 years after they were all the rage. It was actually fairly easy, thanks to the great tutorial here at SCS. The TPT theme was Pandora's box, with a focus on hope for the new year, and I think a box of butterflies seems pretty hopeful. I made the box and went to my stash of previously die-cut goodies to pick up some butterflies, and for several of them, I layered a smaller butterfly on a larger one. I also added a few glittery embellishments to a few. A couple are on strips of acrylic so it appearsthey are flying out of the box.

I'm still trying to find my copy of Hope for the Flowers after Ann's card triggered a thought of it and then Faith actually mentioned it in her write-up. Butterflies are a perfect symbol of hope, and I bet many of us feel we have been stuck in a chrysalis for much of this year and are ready to spread our wings and enjoy some sunshine and freedom. Your paper is absolutely gorgeous, it reminds me of some old-fashioned chintz print. Acetate strips are a great way of adding extra dimension and movement to this fun fold. I hope it won't be your last now you've discovered how easy they are (I agree, the photography can be the tricky bit!!).

Great job on your first ever pop up box card. I love making them for my grandsons (9 & 11) - they think grandma is a "magician" ! Love all the bright happy colors you have here. That adds to the joy of those butterflies popping out of the box!

Love your explosion of butterflies! Your colours are so happy and calm at the same time - beautiful! I've said this on a couple of other 'cards' for this challenge that I really have to give this fold a try. I'm not very intuitive when it comes to the folds so I tend to avoid them but this is really reeling me in! :-)

Your beautiful box arrived here safely and has pride of place in my crafting lair--thank you so much for the beautiful creation and the additional teacup goodies! (I will put those to good use.) Many thanks!
