Happy New Year to everyone! This card was made for a card sketch challenge that also asked us to use the theme "party time".
I started with a Stampin' Up! (SU) sheet purple card stock cut to 7"x 10" that was folded in half to create a 5"x 7" card base. I then cut a 1-1/2" strip of pennant paper from the SU "Dinosaurs" Designer Series Paper (DSP) to span the full width of the card front and glued it down.
The diamond shape piece was cut using stitched squares, which were then run through my Big Shot a second time using a rubber embossing mat to make the stitches deeper. The yellow square is 2-5/8", the white square is 2-1/8".
I stamped the champagne glass from the SU "Happy Hour" stamp set twice with light yellow ink on the white diamond using my SU Stamparatus stamp positioning tool multiple times to get the right shade of yellow so they could form a background to my New Year greeting.
I had die-cut two extra white squares to glue behind the stamped square to raise the sentiment piece up off its yellow mat for added depth.
The final step was to create the pennants. I found a free SVG file on the Web and cut two out of white cardstock with my Brother ScanNCut digital cutting machine. I then use 5 different Copics markers to color the pennants before gluing them down to the card front per the sketch challenge.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" since the dies and digital cutting machine make everything so quick and easy.
Happy New Year!!!
