I watched most of the video Polly linked to her in MIX412 Texturise it challenge. I dozed off a couple times, but it inspired me to come upstairs and have fun making this. Polly asked us to use not normal for us ways of adding texture...From the video, and because I was tidying up from yesterday, I crumpled pieces of tissue paper and attached them to the canvas with gesso. I also used a little masking tape and pieces of a dictionary page which was on my desk. I die-cut the long stems from a cereal box using TH wildflower stems #1, and glued them down with collage medium. I also added some glass bead gel along the bottom edge.
When everything was dry, I spritzed it with a mix of Brusho acrylic sprays and Lindy's sprays. I used Gelatos on the foliage, to highlight the stems - 3 shades of green and a brown.
The flowers were cut from watercolour paper using TH mini tattered flowers, and coloured with inks. I used an IO music background to stamp the blue ones. I shaped them a bit while they were still wet from the ink, and added them to the stems. The yellow ones have Prills in the centre, the blue are Stickles. I think that's about it.
The bird was stamped on a scrap of card sponged with antique linen, and fussy-cut. I used a gelato to colour the two leaves, and added a small half-pearl for the eye.
The sentiment was stamped on another scrap of white card, it's sponged with assorted distress inks and spritzed with water. It and the matting layer are Spellbinders labels 28.
The bees and ladybirds are Elizabeth Crafts - lots of Stickles on the bees wings, and the ladybird wings are holographic card coloured with alcohol ink. I also added a few sequins. The top edge was painted with white acrylic and sprinkled with chunky glitter.

A mixed media masterpiece! I had to just sit and gaze upon this. The scripture spoke to my soul. Once I was able, I read your description and was moved by the talent it took to create this beautiful work of your HEart, mf! So perfectly created.
And that lil lady...my mom’s favorite lady bug.

This is such a delightful collection of mixed media. I have been gazing at it for quite a while just taking in all the different elements. I particularly like the golden bee. Weather here has been so very un Australian. Such a change from what we had last year and New Year is going to be cool with showers - I can handle that. Take care.
