For Polly's Christmas Day MIX challenge, all about unusual texture: it's HERE.
I like the effect of embossing powder on texture paste but don't often do it. Well, I think this year I haven't had much time for stuff like pastes. I pulled a gel print from my stash, stencilled the stars, sprinkled with gold EP and heated. (Actually, this is take two. My first piece was some paste paper, and even though I heated it for a few minutes after sponging, obviously the impermeable paste has a long drying time and my gold EP wasn't just on the stars. I'll turn it into something else another time). The aperture card was on my desk, so I laid it behind, adding some grass cut from a brayer-off scrap. My fox was stamped on card sponged with Antique Linen, and after fussy-cutting him I sponged the edges a bit with rusty hinge. Stamped the sentiment - and lined the back of the inside with some white card to cover the mess of my prints.

Sweet...I love how this all came together...you used bits and pieces you had and added some awesome texture with those stars. That gel print is great with the diamond design. And the printed fox is really fun. Thanks for playing in the MIX!

What an awesome bg to spotlight with the aperture. It took three ‘lookings’ to catch all the detail. Not only the diamonds, the smidge of raspberry color along the upper left, but the very subtle script as well! Fab accompanying elements...love the stars.

I adore your fox. I thought it was an origami fold til I blew it up. Beautiful sky bg with the diamond pattern and ep stars. So now I'm hearing the Beatles in my head (Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds). LOL. Fun card. And, thanks for my little trip down memory lane. Is the fox named Lucy by any chance?
