We are sending paper hugs to Rhode Island where this week's Tea Party Guest, Judy, lives. We were challenged to use one of the State's symbols and the red maple is the State Tree. I love trees and leaves so naturally that's the state symbol I chose.
Created an alcohol ink background. Die cut the leaves. Inked the leaves (direct to paper) with Honeydew metallic ink which is a light green. I know you're thinking RED maple, but the leaves are light green in spring and summer with a silvery underlining. I also edged a piece of white cardstock with the Honeydew ink for the outside matting. The sentiment is computer generated using Eliot Sans and Segoe Script fonts.
I do love trees and interesting leaves and SUGAR, so you would think my favorite tree would be the maple. But my heart is held captive by the Ponderosa Pines that populate our local mountains and many of my favorite childhood memories, And it's bark smells like butterscotch so it's sugary as well. I hope your day is filled with sights and smells that you love too. TFL.

Ooh, what a beautiful card. I love your alcohol ink background and the pretty colors. Sugar? Yes, I love it, too. I did not know the Ponderosa Pine bark smelled like butterscotch. Hmmmm...I love butterscotch.

Oh, lovely! I really like the AI background with the leaves. And I love trees where the leaves have that silvery underlining - what a perfect description of it. And almost a velvety soft texture - which your paper leaves capture.
