This card was made for two challenges which required the use of dies and three colors from the inspiration photo, plus the theme "Cuddle Up Day".
My mind immediately went to warm kittens sitting on a cozy blanket! I created them using the Stampin' Up! (SU) "Fox Friends" stamp set and it's matching "Fox Builder" punch. My SU stamp positioner really came in handy to create the cat's faces. I chose to color the kittens with warm browns and tans from the inspiration photo. I made their tails curl together to make them look even more cozy. The kitten bodies are mounted with foam tape.
The background is a super warm cable knit sweater embossing pattern that I glued to a plaid pattern that reminded me of a warm blanket with it's greens and reds - it's very similar to the blanket in the inspiration photo.
The blanket the kittens are sitting on is the same plaid pattern as the card front matting that I die cut using two different sizes of SU "Stitched Nested Labels" dies.
Finally, the sentiment is from a retired 1993 SU stamp set called "Even More Great Greetings". Since the sentiment stamp was stacked, I used a black SU Stampin' Write Marker to color each word and stamp individually using the SU stamp positioner to make them on one row, rather than stacked. I used the new SU punch to cut both the white label and it's red mat. The matted label was mounted with foam tape to the card front.
The card base is 4-3/4"x 9.5" navy blue cardstock folded in half.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" because I used dies and punches for all the cutting. The sentiment was a little tricky, but patience paid off!
