The starburst technique is pretty simple, really. You ink up a brayer with a Spectrum pad (with the ink pads pushed together). Then instead of rolling the brayer back and forth across a piece of glossy card stock, you place one end of the brayer in the center of the card stock and work your way around in a circle. Keep working the ink around until you get the desired effect and color intensity (and go back for more ink if you need it). I used the same pad for both of these cards, but from different ends, so they look very different. It takes a little bit of practice to keep the circle tight because the brayer wants to skid across the card stock when you try to go in a circle. Take short strokes rather than trying to go in a continuous circle (it also helps give a tie-dyed look to the finished piece).
